Our Approach

PJI’s all-volunteer client advocate teams provide individual clients with social impact, civil legal aid, and assistance with accessing resources to meet basic needs such as food, shelter, and medical care.

Our teams focus on helping one client at a time on their path toward progress, using a highly individualized approach, meeting people where they are.

Working closely with clients over an extended period enables PJI to identify the roots of economic injustice and deepen our understanding of its systemic causes.

Our clients’ experiences guide our public interest research, public policy reform and legal advocacy goals and strategies.

This informed advocacy drives our efforts to collaborate with clients and community partners in finding practical and effective solutions to alleviate and reduce poverty and end systemic economic injustice.
